Girls’ Generation’s Japan venture has reached all-time high as the Recording Industry of Japan (RIAJ) gives the Million certification for their Japan 1st Album.
RIAJ started certifying albums in 1989 based on the number of copies shipped ranging from Gold (100,000), Platinum (250,000), Double-Platinum (500,000), Triple Platinum (750,000), Million (1,000,000) and Multi-Million (2,000,000).
Girls’ Generation’s first self-titled Japanese album recently garnered the prestigious recognition and now joins fellow SM Entertainment label mate BoA as the only Korean artists to have reached such a pinnacle.
